Libya is a potentially promising region for the implementation of many economic projects but now this is not productive because of the conflict in the country, Deputy Director of Department of Africa of the Russian foreign Ministry, Oleg Ozerov told MIA "Russia today".
"The implementation of any projects in a country where there is a civil war, where there are two conflicting sides, is both unrealistic and unproductive today", the diplomat said, in particular.
The settlement of the conflict in Libya or other countries of the continent, according to Ozerov, will contribute to the implementation of a large number of economic projects.
Libya is still one of the most attractive areas of Africa, where there are both oil and gas.
After the overthrow and death of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has a dual power. The East is ruled by Parliament elected by the people, and the capital Tripoli - by the Government of National Accord formed with the support of the United Nations and the European Union.
