The draft roadmap for normalizing relations between Ankara and Damascus, proposed by Moscow, is ready, Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and African countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told reporters on Wednesday.

"The Russian draft of a roadmap is ready. Our task is to discuss it with our partners and progress further in this work. Hopefully, the Astana meeting will enable us to make major progress," said the deputy minister.

Following the May 10 four-party meeting of the Russian, Iranian, Syrian and Turkish foreign ministers in Moscow, it was decided to assign their deputies to prepare a roadmap for developing relations between Damascus and Ankara. The roadmap is aimed at advancing the process of normalizing relations between the two countries.
