The CIS space is Russia's traditional foreign policy priority, the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry reads.
"The rapprochement of Russia and Belarus continued within the framework of the Union state – the program of coordinated actions in the field of foreign policy for 2020-2021 was approved. The new leadership of Kazakhstan indicated the continuity of the course to deepen the Alliance and strategic partnership with Russia. The informal dialogue mechanism "Russia plus Central Asia" at the level of Foreign Ministers has been launched. An intergovernmental agreement was signed with Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of international information security. A new format of meetings of heads of government -the Caspian economic forum - has been launched," the message reads.
As noted, 32 decisions "aimed at deepening cooperation in the economic, law enforcement, cultural and humanitarian spheres” were approved at the level of heads of state and government of the CIS.
The Foreign Ministers signed an action program to intensify the partnership between the foreign ministries, and adopted a Joint statement on support for practical steps to prevent an arms race in outer space.
In preparation for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, the CIS heads of state issued a Statement on the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War, which was distributed at the UN and OSCE sites.
