07 February 2020

Tomorrow, February 8, a Russian military delegation will visit Turkey. According to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, the main topic of discussion at the meeting with Turkish colleagues will be the situation in Idlib.

"We will discuss issues on Idlib, and if necessary, our leaders will meet after that", Cavusoglu said.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he called on his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to put pressure on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to stop the Syrian army offensive in Idlib province and withdraw from Turkish observation posts, threatening otherwise a military response.
