Russian military tested a new Armata T-14 tank in Syria, the head of Minpromtorg Denis Manturov told "Personas with Naila Asker-zade" TV program for Russia-1.
The tanks, according to him, were sent to Syria to "take into account all the nuances in combat conditions", which, in turn, will help form the "final appearance" of the tank, which will be supplied to the Russian army.
Serial deliveries of the tank to the army, as noted by Manturov, will begin in 2021.
The Minister called the vehicle "technically perfect" and equipped with "the most advanced technological solutions".
"...equipped with electronics, it has a special design taking into account the requirements that were presented by the main customer - the Ministry of Defense," he said.
In the future, it is planned that the tank will also be supplied to foreign countries.
The T-14 tank is designed to conduct combat in direct contact with the enemy, support the offensive of motorized rifle units, destroy highly armored targets, fortifications, enemy manpower located in cover positions and in open areas.
