Over 2 thousand refugees return every day from Armenia to their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, told reporters during a briefing on Thursday.
"Every day with the help of Russian peacekeepers, more than 2,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, who had previously left their homes because of fighting, return to their former places of residence," Konashenkov said.
According to the general, more than 17,000 people of Nagorno-Karabakh have returned to their former places of residence with the help of Russian peacekeepers since November 14.
Russian peacekeepers also provide assistance in restoring peaceful life, including humanitarian aid. The peacekeeping operation participants supported the restoration of civil infrastructure facilities, heat supply and gas pipeline in Stepanakert.
