The field multipurpose hospital of the Russian Health Ministry received 5.2 thousand patients in Turkey during the week. In total, since the deployment, the specialists have provided assistance to almost 9,000 patients, the ministry's press service told reporters on Tuesday.
"Specialists of the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health, who provide medical assistance to people affected during the earthquake in Turkey, helped their Turkish colleagues receive 5.2 thousand patients over the week. More than 1,000 of them were treated in the in-patient unit of the field multipurpose hospital. More than 15 patients with chronic renal insufficiency received the necessary procedures of hemodialysis," the report reads.
Assistant to the Russian Health Minister Alexei Kuznetsov specified that 11 modules were used for hospital operations in Turkey. According to him, members of the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia and Turkish medical staff provide assistance around the clock. Kuznetsov recalled that a similar hospital operates in Aleppo, Syria.
"In total, since March 20 - the hospital deployment start time in Turkey - Russian specialists have provided medical assistance to nearly 9,000 people affected during the earthquake," the press service stated.
