Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh led a convoy with 200 tons of humanitarian cargo

Russian peacekeepers led the 14th convoy with 200 tons of humanitarian cargo to the Kelbajar region of Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Thursday.


"In order to restore power and water supply systems, restore social facilities and residential houses, the fourteenth Russian convoy of the Humanitarian Response Center, consisting of 17 military Kamaz vehicles and escort vehicles, followed the Madagiz-Kelbajar route and delivered about 200 tons of cargo to the Kelbajar region," the ministry said.


Among other things, construction materials and equipment for the restoration of power supply systems were delivered, the report specified.


In all, with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, thirteen convoys of vehicles transported about 2,400 tons of cargo.


According to the report, the assistance was rendered to the Azerbaijani side based on the trilateral agreement between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan of November 9 last year.


According to the agreements between the presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, a full cease-fire in Nagorno-Karabakh was declared from November 10, 2020. To supervise its observance, a Russian peacekeeping contingent is deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh, based on the units of the 15th Detached Motorized Rifle (Peacekeeping) Brigade of the Central Military District.
