Participants in the consultations of the Joint commission of Iran and the international five (Britain, Germany, China, Russia and France) should focus on achieving a positive result as soon as possible in the full restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program. Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, who heads the Russian delegation at the face-to-face consultations in Vienna, made this statement on Thursday.

"A new round of talks in Vienna on restoring the JCPOA will start on May 7. We would like to hope that it will be the final one, although there are still many difficult issues to be resolved. In any case, it is important that participants remain focused on achieving a positive result as soon as possible," Ulyanov wrote on Twitter.

On May 1, delegations from the Joint commission of Iran and the international five noted steady progress in summarizing the interim results of the work in Vienna. Experts then continued working on the text of a future agreement. As Ulyanov noted, the participants in the negotiation process are determined to make every effort to complete the talks by the end of May.

Negotiations have been taking place in Vienna since early April within the framework of the Joint Commission of Iran and the international Five to restore the implementation of the JCPOA. Participants in the consultations are also working at the expert level in three working groups. Representatives of the countries participating in the agreement are also holding consultations with the US delegation in Vienna. There are no direct US talks with Iranian representatives in Vienna.
