Russian Representative told about Syrian Douma incident in April 2018

15 July 2019

Permanent Mission of Russia to the OPCW held a press conference "Who uses chemical weapons in Syria?" in the Hague.

The main report to the journalists was made by the Russian Permanent Representative to OPCW  Alexander Shulgin, who spoke about the investigation of alleged chemical weapon attacks in Syrian Douma on April 7, 2018.

The video of "White Helmets" was spread all over the world describing the rescue of allegedly "affected" by sarin. Western countries immediately laid the responsibility for this incident on the Syrian government.

The US, the UK and France delivered massive missile strikes at targets in Syria without knowing the result of an investigation by the OPCW.

"In the end, the long-awaited report was made on March 1 this year. The conclusions were formulated in such a way that no one could doubt the involvement of the Syrian authorities. In a multi-page colorful report - more than 100 pages – there was no place to mention the memorable briefing at the OPCW headquarters with the Syrians, who clearly stated about the provocation,"  Shulgin said.

At the same time, as the expert noted, usually alleged chemical weapon attacks in Syria appear when the Syrian government troops "win, knock out terrorists and their accomplices from their places."
