The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia and the Ministry of Justice of Turkey for the first time signed a program of cooperation, including the fight against terrorism and cybercrime, for the years 2021-2022. The document was signed on Thursday on the sidelines of a conference of the heads of European prosecutor's offices during a meeting between Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and Turkish Deputy Justice Minister Yakup Mogul.
"This document demonstrates the determination of our agencies to work together consistently to counter phenomena such as terrorism, cybercrime and other types of transnational crime," Krasnov said. - "The implementation of these activities will improve understanding of our legal systems and take a big step toward each other to establish fruitful cooperation for the security of our peoples and our nations."
Krasnov expressed confidence in continued cooperation and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Turkish Ministry of Justice and the Russian Prosecutor General's Office as the two competent authorities in extradition for criminal prosecution.
On Wednesday, Krasnov also held a meeting with the Prosecutor General under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Turkey, Bekir Sahin. He noted that interprosecutorial cooperation needs the same dynamic development. "In case of mutual interest in this, I propose to start forming the necessary legal basis for this," Krasnov said.
