Russian President expressed condolences over an earthquake in Turkey

Vladimir Putin sent heartfelt condolences to President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the loss of 38 lives and large-scale destruction caused by an earthquake in Turkey. The text is published by the Kremlin's press service.


“The people of Russia share the pain and grief of those who lost their families and loved ones in the disaster and hope for a speedy recovery of all those who were injured”, Putin stressed in his message.


The 6.8-magnitude quake struck in eastern Elazig province on Friday at 8:55 pm local time. According to the latest information, at least 38 people were killed and more than 1 thousand were injured.
