Russian President ratifies agreement on joint space exploration by CIS countries

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law the ratification of the agreement on joint space exploration by the CIS countries for peaceful purposes. The document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.


It is noted that the agreement is designed to " establish an organizational basis for multilateral cooperation in this area, as well as to promote the creation of a legal framework for the development and conclusion between the parties and participants of joint activities of agreements and other agreements on specific areas of joint space activities."


The ratification will allow combining the resources of interested countries of the CIS in the field of space research, and the creation and sharing of national systems of Earth remote sensing, space communications and broadcasting, development and application of GLONASS satellite navigation technologies and other satellite navigation systems.
