Russian President signs a law on fines for non-compliance with anti-terrorism measures

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that implies large fines - up to 500 thousand rubles - for violating the requirements for anti-terrorism protection of objects, including those belonging to religious organizations.


According to the document published on the official Internet portal of legal information, for violation of requirements to anti-terrorism protection of objects or obstruction of the activities of employees responsible for security, individuals will be fined up to 5 thousand rubles,  officials - up to 50 thousand rubles (or removal from office for up to 3 years),  legal persons - up to 500 thousand rubles.


The law comes into force from the date of its official publication, excluding provisions providing for liability for violation of requirements for anti-terrorism protection of objects of religious organizations. For these, the effective date is set on May 1, 2020.
