Business missions from different Russian regions will visit Turkmenistan on a regular basis, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko told TASS.
"We have been popularizing the work with Turkmenistan for a long time. However, on the wave of the Russian-Turkmen business forum held in Ashgabat we have decided to set an additional task: once every two months a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of a certain region will visit the country and work with colleagues from the core sector," he said.
Padalko said that the first business mission will come from the Lipetsk region. In April, about 40 entrepreneurs from this region will visit Turkmenistan. They are working in metallurgy, vegetable growing, food products sale, production of household appliances and automobile tires.
The vice president of the Russian CCI also expressed confidence that the forum will continue its work not only in the form of discussion platforms, meetings of business councils, but also as B2B-meetings and exchange of contacts. "As experience shows, this is exactly what the entrepreneurs are expecting from us today, whose number one task in the conditions of the new international system of economic relations formation is reorientation to the new markets and search for the reliable partners for cooperation", concluded Padalko.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov noted the traditionally important role in the development of interstate relations of direct ties of his country with the Russian Federation. He reminded that over the past years the country has established constructive and mutually beneficial partnership relations with Tatarstan, St. Petersburg and the Astrakhan region. According to him, a number of other regions of Russia, in particular Chelyabinsk, Orel and Sverdlovsk regions, are interested in working with Turkmenistan. Meredov welcomed this aspiration and expressed readiness to discuss such plans with the leaders and businessmen of the Russian regions.
The Russian-Turkmen business forum was held in Ashkhabad on January 19-20. The plenary session was attended by Meredov and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
