Russian Representative Urges Swift Resolution of Conflict in Sudan During Meeting with Sudanese Ambassador

Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov emphasized the imperative for a prompt end to hostilities and the initiation of a comprehensive national dialogue in Sudan during a meeting with Sudanese Ambassador to Moscow, Mohammed Sirraj. The Russian diplomatic department conveyed this message in an official statement.

 

"The Russian side reaffirmed its principled position on the need for an early cessation of hostilities and the establishment of a broad national dialog in the interests of ensuring the unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of friendly Sudan," the Foreign Ministry stated.

 

In addition to discussions on the Sudanese crisis, the ministry noted that the meeting addressed various pressing issues related to the continued development of the multifaceted relationship between Russia and Sudan. These included maintaining an active political dialogue and enhancing cooperation in trade, economic, and humanitarian domains.
