Russian sappers cleared about 200 hectares of territory and deactivated over 6,000 explosive objects in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported to journalists by Dmitry Perepelkin, the Deputy Head of the Center (for reconciliation of parties) of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"Russian sappers of the Humanitarian Demining Center cleared 195 hectares of territory and 60 km of roads from unexploded mines and shells. More than 6 thousand explosive objects were found and destroyed," Perepelkin said.

According to him, 405 buildings were also checked for unexploded ordnance.

The Deputy Head of the Center also told that military doctors rendered assistance to 558 local residents, including 67 children.

"Together with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, we continue the exchange of bodies of the dead between the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides, as well as the search for the missing people. The number of search teams has been increased from three to five to increase the efficiency of this work," Perepelkin stressed.

He said that the hotline for missing persons received over 490 telephone calls.
