A Russian serviceman was killed in a blast targeting an armored vehicle within a humanitarian convoy, the defense ministry reported.
"On September 9, 2021, in the Homs province <...> during reconnaissance by the Russian military police of the route of the humanitarian convoy, an explosive device set on the roadside exploded," the ministry noted.
A Russian serviceman who was riding in the car was seriously wounded. Despite medical help, he could not be saved.
The defense ministry will provide all necessary assistance and support to the family of the deceased.
