Russian pilots of Su-25 aircraft together with crews of Kazakh Su-30SM aircraft will support the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) collective forces from the air during exercises in Kazakhstan. This was reported in the joint press center of the CSTO exercises.
"During the active phase of the joint exercise, the attack aircraft crews will practice searching for and destroying objects of a conventional enemy by launching S-8 unguided aviation missiles at targets at the Matybulak training range. Russian crews of Mi-8 military transport helicopters will provide a landing of airborne troops in a tactical way to enhance the combat power of the main forces," the report says.
The Su-25 attack aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters are part of Kant Russia's joint military base. It is part of the Collective Forces and is involved in ensuring the security of the airspace of CSTO states.
Command-staff exercises "Interaction-2022" with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, special exercises "Search-2022" with forces and means of intelligence and "Echelon-2022" with units of logistical support of troops (Collective Forces) of the CSTO are conducted from September 26 to October 13 on the territory of Kazakhstan. The active phase of the exercise will take place from 3 to 7 October at the Matybulak training range.
