Russians vaccinated with Sputnik V will be able to visit Bali from February 4

02 February 2022

Tourists from Russia vaccinated with Sputnik V will be able to visit the island of Bali from February 4. This was reported to TASS on Wednesday by a source in Jakarta.

"The authorities have decided from February 4 to open the resort, which will also be available to Russians," he said. One of the mandatory requirements for entry into the country is a full vaccination, with "Indonesia allows the arrival of foreigners who have received both doses of Sputnik V," the source explained. Meanwhile, under the developed rules, tourists will still have to be in quarantine, but its duration is reduced from seven to five days. At the same time, it will be forbidden to leave the island and travel around the country.

Previously, the administration of Bali has selected several hotels and six ships to temporarily isolate visitors.

It will be possible to arrive on the island from abroad only by air. Thus, permits for air travel were obtained by three companies. Garuda Indonesia from February 2 will launch flights from Tokyo Narita Airport. Batik Air will operate flights between Singapore and Bali from February 16, and Singapore Airlines will start flights on the same day on this route.

Indonesian authorities in mid-October last year opened the resort island for tourists from several countries, but in early December they reintroduced a ban on the arrival of foreigners.

The island of Bali before the pandemic was considered one of the top tourist destinations in Southeast Asia, with 6.2 million visitors in 2019. This year, the G20 summit is expected to take place there in a face-to-face format.
