Russian citizens are not among the victims of the armed conflict on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Victor Kharchenko, a representative of the Russian embassy in Bishkek, told TASS on Friday.
"There is no information that Russian citizens may be among the victims yet," he said.
Presently, tens of thousands of Russian citizens live on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
The situation in the area of the disputed Golovnoy water intake located on the border between the two countries escalated on April 28, and a day later, there were armed clashes between soldiers of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. On the evening of April 29, the two sides agreed to a ceasefire and withdrawal of troops. Bishkek and Dushanbe report large numbers of casualties.
