President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with the Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Dato' Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari.
According to the Press Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, the topical issues of cooperation, in particular, touched upon the topic of interaction in the field of Islamic banking and investment activities at the meeting.
D-8 was established in 1997. It includes Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt and Nigeria. The main task of D-8 is to develop cooperation between the member countries of the organization, strengthening economic and social ties.
It is worth noting that Dato' Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari arrived in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan to attend the XIth International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit-2019", which has started the day before.
