Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of Tatarstan, recently met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar.
"Qatar is a crucial and reliable partner of Russia in the Middle East. And Tatarstan at its level is trying to contribute to the development of Russian-Qatari relations," Minnikhanov acknowledged.
In response, the Emir of Qatar affirmed his country's keen interest in bolstering economic ties with Russian regions, particularly highlighting the potential for collaboration with Tatarstan.
The discussion also touched upon the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World," where Minnikhanov underlined the need for expanded cooperation.
The Emir assured that he would send a delegation from Qatar to KazanForum and expressed additional interest in exploring opportunities for cooperation in development.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani graciously accepted an invitation for Qatar's team to partake in the world's first "Games of the Future," a large-scale tournament in the phygital concept.
