Rustam Minnikhanov: Russian authorities pay great attention to cooperation with Muslim countries

During his visit to Dubai, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with the Secretary General of the Alwaleed Philanthropies Foundation, Princess Lamia Bint Majed Saud Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.


During the conversation, Minnikhanov stressed that the Russian authorities pay great attention to cooperation with Muslim countries.
In 2005, Russia became an observer in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). A large amount of work is carried out by the Group of strategic vision "Russia-Islamic world", which Rustam Minnikhanov chairs on behalf of President Vladimir Putin.


Lamia Bint Majed Al Saud, in turn, spoke about the  Alwaleed Philanthropies charitable foundation, which conducts its activities in 180 countries in the field of education, health, disaster relief, as well as in the fight for women's rights and the development of dialogue between cultures.


In addition, the Foundation organizes various events in European countries, so that their residents can get acquainted with Islamic culture. Rustam Minnikhanov suggested considering the possibility of joint participation in these events. Lamia Bint Majed Al Saud, according to the press service of the President of Tatarstan, supported this idea.
