Saudi Arabia has issued a call for restraint and the prevention of further escalation in the Red Sea region following the recent US and British strikes on facilities belonging to the rebel movement "Ansar Allah" (Houthis) in multiple cities across Yemen, as stated by the Kingdom's Foreign Ministry.
"The Kingdom underscores the paramount importance of maintaining security and stability in the Red Sea region, urging restraint and advocating against further escalation," emphasized the Saudi Foreign Ministry statement, as reported by Al Mayadeen.
On Friday night, military forces from the United States and Britain conducted airstrikes utilizing planes, ships, and submarines, targeting Ansar Allah facilities in several Yemeni cities, including Sana'a, Saada, Al Hudaydah, Taizz, and Dhamar.
In the wake of the heightened Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Houthi movement has indicated its intention to target Israeli territory. Additionally, they have asserted that they will not permit ships associated with Israel to traverse the waters of the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait until the military operation in the Palestinian enclave is halted.
