The prisoner exchange operation between Russia and Ukraine last year took place under the personal supervision of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. Kingdom's Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said this on Thursday at a press conference in Moscow following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"We are always keen to provide support in order to achieve a settlement of this crisis [in Ukraine]. We are ready to work with all sides to find a peaceful solution. We have previously put forward certain initiatives, including the exchange of prisoners. This operation took place under the personal supervision of the crown prince," the Saudi foreign minister said.
"We are grateful to the Russian side and will continue, of course, to discuss further possibilities to facilitate the dialogue between the sides (Russian and Ukrainian – TASS)," he added.
