Saudi king was hospitalized for examination

The King of Saudi Arabia, 84-year-old Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud was hospitalized on Monday for examination due to inflammation of the gallbladder, the Saudi news agency SPA, citing the office of the monarch, reports.


"The custodian of two shrines (the official title of the Saudi monarch - ed.), King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud on Monday went to the King Faisal specialized hospital in Riyadh for a series of tests due to inflammation of the gallbladder," the statement said.


On Saturday, the authorities of neighboring Saudi Arabia Kuwait reported that the head of this state, Emir Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, was hospitalized for medical examinations. It was reported that his younger brother and Crown Prince Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah would temporarily perform "a number of duties" as Emir.


On Sunday, the Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) reported that the Emir had an operation, it was successful.
