Saudi-led coalition forces detained a tanker carrying oil products bound for Yemen's port of Al Hudaydah, despite having a permit to enter. This was reported Monday by Iran's PressTV television channel, citing Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) spokesman Issam al-Mutawakkil.
"Coalition forces seized the Viviana tanker carrying 30,314 tons of diesel fuel and prevented it from entering the port of Al Hudaydah, despite going through inspection and obtaining permission from the UN," the TV channel quoted al-Mutawakkil as saying. According to him, this is the second such case recently with a tanker for Yemen, which received UN permission.
Last Friday, the coalition arrested the Fos Power vessel.
Riyadh hosted inter-Yemen consultations from March 30 to April 7, without the participation of representatives of the Ansar Allah (Houthis) rebel movement, convened at the initiative of the Gulf Cooperation Council and under UN auspices. During these meetings, UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg announced that the participants had agreed to a two-month suspension of hostilities, which was then extended.
