"Sberbank" to provide a loan for the construction of nuclear power plant in Turkey

Sberbank plans to loan to Akkuyu Nuclear - a subsidiary of Rosatom Corporation.

 

 

According to RIA "Novosti", the loan amount is 400 million US dollars for 7 years. Sberbank became the first lender of the project. Previously, all funds for the construction of  the nuclear power plant were from the federal budget of Russia and from Rosatom's own financial sources.

 

 

Akkuyu nuclear power plant, which is being built near the city of Mersin in southern Turkey, will be the first in the history of the country to produce energy using a nuclear reactor. Its cost is around 20 billion dollars. According to the project documentation, 4 power units will be built, the capacity of 1200 MW each. Construction started in April 2018. The first block will be launched in 2023.
