Scientists have determined what temperature kills the coronavirus

17 April 2020

The coronavirus completely dies at 92 degrees for 15 minutes.

A group of scientists from the University of Provence reached this conclusion, according to the bioRxiv resource, which produces scientific materials.

During the experiment, scientists heated the virus to 60 degrees for an hour. As it turned out, after such exposure, some of its strains are still able to reproduce, and this is despite the fact that an hour's heating to 60 degrees is the standard Protocol for decontamination of the virus in most laboratories in the world, where they study the analysis of infected people.

The authors of the experiment stated that the results of their study might contribute to the selection of the most appropriate Protocol for virus deactivation to prevent the threat of infection of medical personnel working directly with samples.

According to the latest WHO data, almost two million cases of infection have been recorded in the world, more than 131 thousand people died.
