Secretary General of the World Islamic League praised Russia’s experience in interfaith relations

A meeting was held in Moscow between the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov and the Secretary General of the World Islamic League, Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, who is in Russia to participate in the International Religious Conference «Islam is the Message of mercy and peace».

 

 

During the conversation, in which the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Moscow, Raid bin Khalid Krimli, also took part, the parties discussed topical issues of inter religious relations and countering extremism.

 

 

At the same time, Al-Issa has highlighted the unique centuries-old Russian experience of peaceful coexistence of representatives of various beliefs and convictions.

 

 

During the exchange of views on the situation for the Middle East, the important role of leaders of religious communities in preventing conflicts on religious grounds, as well as in countering any manifestations of xenophobia, racial and ethnic intolerance was emphasized.
