NATO is moving troops to the borders of Russia. About this in an interview for the newspaper of the Ministry of Defense «Red Star», said Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Mikhail Popov. According to him, only in the last two years, the number of NATO troops has increased from 25 thousand people to 40 thousand people.

In the Baltics alone, reinforced battalion tactical groups of a multinational composition of up to 1000 (one thousand) troops each were deployed. Now the United States, as noted by Popov, continues to actively implement the so-called «3 to 30» initiative, which provides for the readiness to use 30 mechanized battalions, 30 air squadrons and 30 combat ships of the bloc countries for 30 days.

«The system of transatlantic  reinforcement of troops from US and Canada to Europe that was deployed during the Cold War years is also being reanimated to deploy large coalition groups of troops on the border with Russia,» noted Popov.
