Today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security policy Josep Borrell on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Bratislava.
During the conversation, the diplomats discussed ways to overcome the prolonged period of stagnation in Russia-EU relations.
The Russian side stressed that the restoration of mutually beneficial, equal and respectful cooperation between Russia and the EU would meet the interests of the countries and peoples of the entire European continent.
The importance and mutual benefit of establishing a substantive dialogue between the EAEU and the EU were stressed.
Special attention was paid to international issues, including the situation in Syria and the Middle East as a whole.
