Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is in Geneva, where the 43rd session of the UN Human Rights Council and the Conference on Disarmament take place these days.
According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the session considers a wide range of issues on the international human rights agenda.
These include respect for human rights in the fight against terrorism, prevention of torture, human rights and corruption, ensuring religious freedom, preventing genocide, ensuring cultural rights, combating discrimination against minorities, protecting the rights of children and persons with disabilities, and other thematic topics.
In addition, the human rights situation in Syria, Ukraine, North Korea, Iran, Myanmar, Mali, Eritrea, Burundi, South Sudan, CAR, DRC and the occupied Palestinian territories will be reviewed.
