Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with the Secretary of State of the Republic of San Marino on Foreign Affairs, political issues and justice Nicola Renzi. Speaking at a press conference following the discussion, the Russian Foreign Minister thanked the leadership of San Marino for a pragmatic and balanced foreign policy. «We appreciate that San Marino has not joined the unilateral illegitimate sanctions against the Russian Federation.
This creates additional opportunities for strengthening mutually beneficial practical cooperation. We will use them», noted Lavrov in particular. According to him, during the negotiations, an agreement was reached to constructively cooperate within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), including on security and cooperation in the Mediterranean. Special attention is paid to a number of other topical issues, including those on the UN agenda.
«We are united in the need for truly collective efforts in the fight against terrorism. We appreciate San Marino’s solidarity with the Russian Federation. A monument to the victims of the terrorist attack in Beslan was erected here. I hope that today i will be able to visit this monument and lay flowers in memory of these victims», the Russian minister stressed.
