The meeting with US President Donald Trump was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference in Washington.

Russia, he said, offered the United States any options to extend the Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START), and confirmed its readiness to extend the START-3.

The Minister on behalf of President Vladimir Putin invited Trump to Victory Day celebrations. "President Trump is considering our invitation. We hope that in case of such an opportunity, of course, it will be possible to hold full-scale bilateral talks", he said, in particular.

Trump, in turn, called the meeting with Lavrov "very good". "We discussed many topics, including trade, Iran, North Korea, the INF Treaty; nuclear arms control and election interference. I look forward to continuing our dialogue in the near future!" he wrote on his Twitter.
