The 56th International Security Conference opened in Munich today.
About 800 delegates - politicians, representatives of business and scientific circles, as well as human rights organizations from all over the world-take part in its work. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov represents Russia.
In total, more than 30 heads of state and government and nearly 100 Foreign and Defense Ministers will participate in the forum.
In 2019, more than 600 delegates took part in the conference. The focus was on the situation in the Middle East, the Arctic, the Balkans, and the Black Sea, as well as on energy and cyber security and arms control issues.
