Sergey Shoygu says the armed forces are ready to fight the coronavirus

During a surprise check, the armed forces showed that they were ready to fight the coronavirus, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu told at a conference call.


"On March 28, a sudden check was completed, during which the readiness of military authorities, formations, military units and medical organizations to localize emergency situations related to the threat of infection and spread of infections was increased. All the forces and tools involved have successfully coped with the tasks set," the head of the Department said, in particular.


In addition, according to the Minister, 49 mobile sanitary and epidemiological groups have been formed in the Russian Armed forces to identify those infected with coronavirus.


According to the latest data, the coronavirus in Russia was detected in 7497 people (in 81 subjects), 494 of them recovered, 58 died.
