The female parade troops of the Russian military base in Tajikistan for the first time will take part in a solemn procession to be held on May 9. This was reported by the press service of the Central Military District (CMD) on Wednesday.
"For the first time, a parade formation consisting of female military personnel of the 201st Russian military base will take part on May 9 in a solemn march dedicated to the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. <...> On Victory Day, women will march solemnly in uniform decorated with St. George ribbons," the statement says.
The young servicewomen have already begun training on ceremonial military drill. More than 60 servicemen will take part in the solemn procession.
The 201st Military Base stationed in Tajikistan is the largest military facility of Russia outside the country. It is located in two cities, Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defense, air defense and communications units.
