The competition started last December and was held in three stages. According to the rules, only students of Russian universities aged between 18 and 27 could participate in the competition in Arabic.

There were 14 students who reached the final, which was held on Tuesday in the Qatari embassy in Russia. The jury included representatives of Qatar University and Russian universities.

According to the diplomatic mission, more than 150 students took part in the selection; traditionally, most of the applications came from Moscow and St. Petersburg, and students from Grozny, Makhachkala, Tyumen, Pyatigorsk, Ufa and Kazan were also active.
