Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held talks in Moscow on Tuesday with Egyptian Defense and Military Industry Minister Colonel General Mohamed Ahmed Zaki. During the bilateral meeting, the two sides discussed military and military-technical cooperation.
"Dear Mr. Minister, I am pleased to welcome you to Moscow. We highly appreciate the Egyptian leadership's desire to develop comprehensive relations between our countries, including in the military field. Egypt is a reliable partner for us in North Africa and the Middle East," Shoigu said, opening the meeting.
He invited his Egyptian colleague to discuss topical issues of Russian-Egyptian military cooperation and further joint steps.
