Today, the Syrian government controls more than 90% of the country's territory, Russian Minister of Defense Sergey Shoygu announced.
“Five years ago, the territory free from terrorists, controlled by the government, was only 18% of the country's total area. Today it is over 90%. And the liberation from small hotbeds of terrorism on the territory of Syria continues quite confidently," he said, in particular, answering the corresponding TASS question.
The Minister also noted that today the entire world community needs to focus on restoring peaceful life in Syria.
