Russian software developers are not sufficiently promoting their technologies in Sierra Leone and Africa as a whole. Domestic companies must step up their activities to carve out a niche for themselves in Africa, Sierra Leone's Ambassador to Russia Mohamed Yongavo said Tuesday at the XIII International IT Forum with SCO and BRICS countries in Khanty-Mansiysk.
"I see what tremendous success you have achieved. But only these wonderful technologies are not being exported. Bring these technologies to Africa and other places. <...> There is a huge market for you in Africa, especially in Sierra Leone. We want and can use Russian technology, because I am sure that Russian technology is one of the best in the world. Russia can lead other countries, especially African countries," he said.
The ambassador added that Sierra Leone has a plan to digitalize various spheres by 2029. Russia can make a major technological contribution to this plan.
International IT-forum with the BRICS countries and the SCO is recognized as the world's leading discussion platform for political and business circles, and to discuss the most current trends in the digital economy. Traditionally representatives of the diplomatic corps of foreign states in Russia, federal and regional state authorities, IT companies, public and scientific organizations, and the expert community of foreign countries take part in the forum.
