Terrorists under the Russian-banned Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (one of the names of the Russian-banned Jabhat al-Nusra) are training fighters to commit crimes in various Russian cities in places of mass street events, sources in law enforcement agencies reported.

"Information has been received that the leaders of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist alliance (recognized as a terrorist organization by the Russian Supreme Court on May 20, 2020) have targeted their supporters to commit crimes in various Russian cities in places of mass street events. "To this end, the leaders of the terrorist formations Jaish al-Muhajirin wal-Ansar, Jamaat al-Tauhid wal-Jihad, Ajnad al-Kavkaz and others structured in Hayat Tahrir al-Sham are training the most trusted and experienced fighters from among recruits who are of Russian origin or recruited in countries bordering Russia," the interlocutor said.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham is a coalition of Islamist groups led by Jabhat al-Nusra fighters. It was established on January 28, 2017. The group has up to 20,000 fighters who control most of Idlib province.
