Speaker of Kyrgyzstan's Parliament to discuss development of relations with Russia

Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiev has arrived in Moscow where he is scheduled to meet with Speakers of the State Duma and the Federation Council Vyacheslav Volodin and Valentina Matviyenko to discuss the development of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. This was reported on Tuesday by the press service of the parliament of Kyrgyzstan.

 

"Today, April 25, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh [Speaker of the Supreme Council] of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev is on an official visit to the Russian Federation. As part of his official visit, he will meet with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin and Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko," the statement reads.

 

According to the press service, during Shakiev's meetings with Volodin and Matviyenko, issues of "activating political-economic, cultural and humanitarian ties" as well as inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two states will be discussed.

 

The delegation of the Kyrgyz parliament, which is in Moscow, also includes nine deputies of the republic's highest legislative body.
