The use of the Russian single-component coronavirus vaccine Sputnik Light as a universal booster for all vaccines has been approved in the UAE, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said in a statement.

"RDIF announces the approval of the use of the Russian single-component coronavirus vaccine Sputnik Light as a universal booster for all vaccines in the UAE by the country's Ministry of Health and Prevention," the statement reads.

The two-component Sputnik V vaccine was also approved in the UAE in January 2021. Sputnik Light and Sputnik V are registered in the country under the emergency use authorization (EUA) procedure.
