Sputnik V vaccine produced in Kazakhstan will be registered in Kazakhstan on February 15

The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan intends to register the coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V, produced in the republic, starting from February 15. This was announced at a briefing on Wednesday by First Vice Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Marat Shoranov.


"Sputnik V vaccine produced by the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex will be registered from February 15. Production of the first batch of 90,000 doses has already begun, which will be available for shipment to the warehouses of the single distributor [of medicines] starting February 26," Shoranov said.


According to him, by July 2021, the volume of vaccine production at the site of the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex is planned to reach 2 million doses.


In addition, Kazakhstan expects delivery of the first batch of the vaccine "Sputnik V" of Russian production in early February in the amount of up to 20 thousand doses. "There are appropriate arrangements with the Russian side to supply this party by single entry into Kazakhstan," the first vice-minister of health explained.


Earlier it was reported that from February 1, Kazakhstan will start vaccinating the population against coronavirus infection using the vaccine Sputnik V, which is produced in Russia. On February 15, Kazakhstan will start using the Sputnik V vaccine produced by the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex. From the second quarter of this year, it is planned to connect to the process of vaccinating the population a drug produced in Kazakhstan, QazCovid-In, which is currently undergoing the third phase of clinical trials.
