Summit of EurAsEC Leaders starts in Nur-Sultan

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin arrived in Nur-Sultan where the summit of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is starting today.

 

 


On the eve of the event, the Head of the Russian Federation met with the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and received from the former Kazakhstani leader the order of the “First President of Kazakhstan - the Leader of the Nation, Nursultan Nazarbayev”.

 

 


The EurAsEC Summit will be timed to the 5th anniversary of the union.

 

 


According to the official website of Russian President, “The members of the higher council will sum up the work of the Eurasian Economic Union over the five-year period and outline the tasks of expanding cooperation in various areas: trade, economy, industry, finance, social policy”.

 

 


It is expected that after the discussion the main guidelines of the macroeconomic strategy of the EurAsEC member states for 2019–2020 will be approved, in addition to a number of other interstate documents.
