The Syrian army's artillery has carried out extensive rocket and mortar attacks on the bases of militants responsible for the attack on a military school in Homs. According to reports from the Al Mayadeen TV channel, these attacks targeted the neighborhoods of Sermin, Eriha, and Benesh in Idlib province, controlled by the banned terrorist group Jebhat al-Nusra.
Positions held by fighters from the Turkestan Islamic Party, an extremist organization comprised of Uighurs from China's Xinjiang region, who fight alongside al-Nusra, were also targeted. The strikes resulted in the complete destruction of all these targets, causing significant casualties among the enemy's forces and equipment.
Syrian Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabbash initially reported on October 5 that terrorists had used drones to carry out an attack that claimed the lives of 80 people. Subsequently, the Health Ministry updated the death toll to 81, including 5 children and 31 women, with 240 people wounded.
The Syrian Armed Forces Command noted that the majority of the victims among the dead and wounded were family members of Syrian military personnel who had been invited to a celebratory event at the school, marking the graduation of cadets.
