Syrian MFA comments on Ukrainian UAV attack on Kremlin

Syria strongly condemns Ukraine for attacking the Kremlin with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and considers it a terrorist attack against which Russia has the right to defend itself. The Syrian foreign ministry said in a statement issued Thursday.


"Syria supports Russia's right to defend itself against such dangerous terrorist attacks and prevent them from happening again," the ministry said. - "Syria strongly condemns the Ukrainian regime, run by the United States and its allies, for firing drones into the Kremlin and considers it a terrorist act and irresponsible behavior."


On Wednesday night, Ukraine attempted to use two drones to strike the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the press service of the Russian leader said. The military and special services promptly disabled the enemy vehicles. Putin was not hurt and continues to work as usual. The Kremlin said the attack was a planned act of terrorism and an assassination attempt on the leader of the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation reserves the right to respond however and whenever it deems necessary, according to the presidential press service.
